CULTURE

Malaysia is home to many ethnic groups which co-exist in harmony. This enriches the country’s cultural heritage, with a blend of food, traditions, clothing and customs.

Geographically, Malaysia is as diverse as its culture. The South China Sea, separates the states in the Malaysian peninsula from those in north part of Borneo. Temperatures range from cool in highlands give way to warm sandy beaches and rich, humid mangroves.

Known for being laid back, warm and friendly, Malaysians enjoy eating. As a result, nearly any cuisine is available in Malaysia, from hot and spicy Indian and exotic Mediterranean to Western and popular Chinese dishes. Malaysia is also home to hundreds of colourful festivals.

Being a tropical country, Malaysia is hot and humid all year round, with temperatures normally ranging from 25℃ to 33℃.

WHERE TO EAT

Food and drink are available on the Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College campus, at reasonable prices (RM 3 – 10 per meal). Students can also visit neighbouring shopping malls and eateries in the heart of the Shah Alam township.
